Samsung’s
latest flagship smartphones the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge both went on
sale today in a number of major markets around the world. And on the very first
day of sale, Samsung has a surprise update for all you Galaxy S6 Edge owners
out there. Samsung today released the very first Galaxy S6 Edge software
update, still based on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version, same version that
the device comes with out of the box. The latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update has so far been
released only for Galaxy S6 Edge owners in Netherlands.
Owners of
the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in other European markets can expect to receive the
update very soon. Since the update is believed to be a global update, we expect
the update to be available for Galaxy S6 Edge owners around the world very
soon, in markets where the Galaxy S6 Edge has gone on sale today.
Samsung has also increased the
sensitivity of the curved touchscreen with this update. Prior to the update,
the sensitivity of the display on the curved edges was lower than the other
parts of the display. It was believed that this behavior was intentional,
helping prevent accidental touches being registered on the curved edge part of
the display. However, it now looks like Samsung wants the touch sensitivity to
be on par with the rest of the display.
